Described as a fusion of Melodic Rock and Middle America Roots, South Florida band SIREN has refined the boundaries of their sound over the years, building a strong dedicated fan base and Industry acclaim. Lead singer and songwriter Rob Phillips has been the consistent centerpiece of this group since its original formation in the ’80s. Along with drummer/engineer Mike Cupino, the band is embarking on their biggest success to day.
As the band started preparing for production of their upcoming album Listen, Siren found their sound evolving into a middle America roots Rock direction as their songs told stories and memories of the everyday experiences of growing up into adulthood.
They began recording in Atlanta’s Madison Studios with engineer Wyatt Oates, and the result was their first single ‘Small Town’. “Small Town” captures a special moment in time of growing up in a small town and experiencing life’s glowing innocence.
Once “Small Town” was complete, they recruited Video Director Issac Deitz (Manchester Orchestra, Grouplove, Switchfoot) to film the video. The response to the video was immediate with over 1 Million views on Tik Tok and critical acclaim from within the Industry:
“Dead Beggar” was the next track released from the forthcoming album “Listen” and is a poignant commentary on the divide between the wealthy and the impoverished. The song captures the emotional and societal disconnect inherent in this disparity, with its narrative focusing on the rich man’s isolation within his “Ivory Tower” and the dark irony of wealth’s impact on shared joy.
The third single from the Listen album was “Arrow” which delivers a powerful story about instant attraction, longing, and the possibility of love at first sight. With soaring instrumentation accompanying the lyrics, the song captures the exhilarating moment when two souls connect. It poses the ultimate question: Could this be the one?
Recorded at Atlanta’s Madison Studios with engineer Wyatt Oates, Siren’s upcoming album “Listen” displays the band’s talent for storytelling, as they bring together Middle America roots-rock vibes with their progressive edge.
